Cabins for Cancer was founded in 2021 by Spencer K Bailey. Spencer is a real estate developer from Utah, who at age 28 was diagnosed with Bilateral Testicular Cancer. Unfortunately, his cancer and treatment coincided with the global COVID-19 pandemic and Spencer truly felt the deep seclusion and despair a lot of patients with cancer experience. In his darkest moments, he longed for time with his family and those he loved. He wanted to escape from the pain and constant reminders of the disease he was fighting. While in the hospital Spencer made a commitment that he would do something to uplift and strengthen those that were going through similar experiences to him. He wanted to help those fighting and bravely living life with this ravishing disease see a light and experience a lift, even in the darkest parts of their journey.

Upon his discharge, he spent time at his cabin up in Bear Lake, Idaho. Spencer was amazed at the peace he felt and the rapid healing he experienced while soaking in the tranquil Bear Lake setting. It was there Spencer committed to making that experience available to others as they made their way through their cancer treatment and healing process.

Today, Cabins for Cancer has access to dozens of luxury vacation homes and aims to provide over 100+ nights of relaxation and refuge for cancer patients and their loved ones each year. While we currently operate in Utah and Idaho, we are excited at the prospect of expanding to more communities and blessing the lives of many individuals in the years to come.
